WIP Wednesday: the one with the sewing space

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Very little done this week, and almost no pictures.

Because...LET THERE BE KITCHEN!

Kitchen! Nearly there!

Okay, so that's an old one (a couple of weeks old) and it doesn't show that we've unpacked most of the cutlery, cups, mugs, plates, plastic, and whatnot into the shelves and are READY TO COOK!

We still need to paint around the new boards and put up the splashbacks (tile) but on the whole, it's pretty good and I am quite happy with it!

I'm also happy with the clearing out of the lounge room (my sewing space).

From this:
The room formerly known as the sewing room.

To this:
Slowly clearing!

Maybe that's not much difference to those of you looking in, but it's a LOT of difference to us living here!

And since the sewing room has now been cleared of stuff, I have rearranged my sewing space!

Sewing space!

Desk was requisitioned from my sister (she was just using it as a filing cabinet - where by 'filing cabinet' I mean 'dumping ground'), and the drawers are oh-so-useful for putting things I don't want the kittehs to eat. (Like pins. PINS. Sharp pointy things do not go in the mouths of kids and kittehs. So why, oh why, are they so attracted to them? I go to iron something and when I turn around, Mal has a mouth full of pins and a guilty expression.)

And that's the bulk of the WIPs in my life. Except for the 12,000 word story I'm on the verge of finishing and which has dragged out a full 10 days longer than I thought it would. Bloody epics. I haven't even tried starting the novella I've got in mind!

Okay, so I do have a leetle bit of WIP sewing to present...

Some handsewing (60˚ diamonds):
A little handsewing

And the Sekrit Projekt which I was hoping to finish last night, only to realise I was so tired, I'd probably sew my own fingers together if I was left to it... As it was, some unpicking is in order, drat it!

Finished project and tutorial to come next week when I am no longer a bear of very little brain. (Most of it having dribbled out my ears in abject exhaustion.)

WIP Wednesday is here! Go forth and linky party!
